EIM Choice Care frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What is concierge medicine?

Concierge medicine is a healthcare model where patients pay an annual fee for enhanced access to their primary care physician. This model offers longer appointments, more personalized care, and greater availability, often including 24/7 access to the physician for urgent issues.

How does concierge medicine differ from traditional healthcare?

Physicians often have a larger volume of patients in a traditional practice, which can result in shorter visits and limited time for personalized care. Concierge medicine focuses on a smaller patient volume, providing opportunities for longer, more in-depth appointments as well as easier access to care. Your physician will have more time to get to know you and your health history, providing a deeper level of care and attention. This includes creating personalized health plans, more frequent follow-ups, and an emphasis on preventive care and wellness.

What is included in the EIM Choice Care membership?

The annual membership fee covers enhanced access to your physician, including longer visits, same-day or next-day appointments, 24/7 text, phone or email access, and a more personalized approach to care. Appointments are typically 30-45 minutes for office visits and 90 minutes for comprehensive wellness visits. Also included is an individualized weight loss plan and help coordinating your specialist care appointments.

Who will be my doctor through EIM Choice Care, and will I see only that doctor?

Dr. Eric Neisch is a board-certified internal medicine provider, specializing in supporting patients through all stages of adult life, including acute care, chronic care, preventative care and end of life care. He started Eastside Internal Medicine in 2002, is on staff at Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit and is extremely committed to the care of his patients. Dr. Neisch will be your primary care physician and available for your needs. This ensures a more personalized, continuity of care for you. Occasionally, when Dr. Neisch is out of the office for vacations or unplanned circumstances, another trusted provider will be available for emergencies.

Is EIM Choice Care concierge medicine covered by insurance?

The annual membership for EIM Choice Care is not covered by traditional health insurance. However, we will still bill your insurance for medical services provided that fall outside of the concierge services. Some insurance plans allow patients to use their Health Savings Account (HSA) to cover the Choice Care membership fee. EIM recommends that all members verify with their insurance or employer if this benefit is available to them.

Will I still need health insurance?

Concierge care is designed to complement your health insurance, not replace it. You’ll still need health insurance for services that aren’t covered under your concierge medicine membership, such as hospitalization, specialist visits, or major medical procedures.

Can I still see specialists or use hospitals outside the concierge practice?

You can still see specialists or be treated at hospitals. As a concierge program member, you will get help with the coordination of specialty provider appointments.

What if I don’t need to see a doctor regularly?

The benefits of concierge medicine are still valuable even if you don’t require frequent doctor visits. You’ll have better access to care when you do need it, a stronger relationship with your doctor since he’s your primary coordinator of your care, and a focus on preventive care to help maintain your health long-term.

How does concierge medicine help with preventive care?

Concierge medicine helps with preventive care by offering more frequent check-ups, customized health screenings, wellness planning, and early detection of health issues. This proactive approach can help prevent serious conditions and keep your health on track.

How do I know if concierge medicine is right for me?

Concierge medicine can be a great option for individuals who value personalized, timely care and are looking for more proactive management of their health. It’s also beneficial for those with chronic conditions, high-stress jobs, or busy lifestyles who need more convenient access to their physician. EIM Choice Care offers a complimentary new patient meet and greet with the doctor to address your questions and concerns.

Who can join EIM Choice Care practice?

As a board-certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Neisch sees patients in all stages of adult life, including acute care, chronic care, preventative care and end of life care. There is a limit to the number of patients included in the concierge medicine practice.

Are there payment plans for EIM Choice Care?
